Jonas Kieffer’s plans to become a historian became history when a new, New Jersey governor asked if he would consider writing speeches instead of enrolling in graduate school. For more than a decade since, he has crafted strategies and storylines to help inform, influence, and inspire.
Today, Jonas works with executives, organizations, and brands at the highest levels of business, philanthropy, and issue advocacy.
He has shaped messaging at the heart of groundbreaking, widely recognized thought-leadership and public-affairs campaigns. He has shepherded multiple books from conception to publication.
Prior to joining West Wing Writers, Jonas served in President Barack Obama’s Administration as Director of Speechwriting at the United States Department of Transportation. As an aide to Secretary Ray LaHood, he led the agency’s team of writers.
Previously, Jonas was a senior executive-communications advisor and chief speechwriter to Dr. Judith Rodin, President of the Rockefeller Foundation. And before that, he was the speechwriter for that same New Jersey governor, Jon S. Corzine.
Jonas began his career as an organizer on local, statewide, and presidential campaigns. A magna cum laude graduate of Brown University and native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, he lives with his wife and their dog on New York’s Upper West Side.
