Jeff Sobotko

Director

Jeff Sobotko knows that even the best ideas can’t reach their full potential without an effective communications strategy. That’s why he’s spent his career helping leaders use accessible and compelling language to deliver messages that engage and inspire.

As Deputy Communications Director for U.S. Senator Angus King, Jeff spent years crafting messaging that resonated on both sides of the aisle. He channeled the Senator’s thoughtful, independent voice on topics including foreign affairs, cybersecurity, and, of course, lobstering. Senator King once called him the “Tom Brady” of writing; Jeff, a lifelong New York Giants fan, took only mild offense.

Most recently, Jeff worked with deans, scientists, and students at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health to bring their research to new audiences without sacrificing scientific rigor. His ability to fuse data and personal anecdotes helped top-tier academic leaders advocate for bold public health investments that would confront pandemic threats, address racial health inequities, and improve patient outcomes.

Jeff’s writing has been published in The Washington Post, the Boston Globe, and TIME; his words have been delivered at Harvard’s convocation, on the Senate floor, and on TV programs broadcast across the country. A graduate of Hamilton College, where he studied government and history, Jeff currently resides in Brooklyn with his wife.
