The Name is Mamdani.
Zohran Mamdani is a relentlessly disciplined messenger on affordability. So it’s all the more interesting when he gives a speech about something else. A week and a half before election night in November, Mamdani delivered widely acclaimed remarks addressed to Muslim New Yorkers. WWW intern Andrew Sun discusses why it succeeded, as well as what it means for other candidates looking to emulate Mamdani’s rise.
Zohran Mamdani is a messaging strategist’s dream.
His relentless focus on affordability was a major reason he won his race in New York City. Even President Trump was charmed, both in style (watch their bromance in the Oval last month) and in substance. Indeed, the administration proposed several affordability policies the week after Mamdani (alongside Governors-Elect Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherill) claimed resounding election night victories.
