Chris Fox

Managing Director

Head of Talent Strategy and Development

As a trusted partner to rising leaders and top executives, Chris Fox has written countless keynotes, conference scripts, and op-eds for CEOs, nonprofit heads, and some of TIME’s Most Influential People — helping them translate complex ideas, tell their stories from iconic stages, and even transform their organizations.

A member of the West Wing Writers team since 2013, Chris is known for bringing poetry and power to topics ranging from the future of streaming to sustainability and social justice. He has collaborated on several books, including a New York Times bestseller. And as part of West Wing Writers’ humor writing team, his jokes have been quoted in the pages of The New York Times — and made black-tie-suited dignitaries laugh out loud.

Over the years, Chris has also been instrumental in building West Wing Writers’ internship program — whose alumni have gone on to write for CEOs, cabinet secretaries, and civic leaders. Now, as Director of Talent Strategy and Development, Chris works to apply the very principles that make writing better — like clarity, empathy, structure, and an openness to revision — to enhance the firm’s approach to talent management, with a focus on nurturing the country’s most talented writers and creating an inclusive workplace where they can thrive.

When he’s not helping clients tell their stories, Chris is writing his own. He earned his MFA in Creative Writing from Hunter College and has been a writing resident at The Studios at MASS MoCA. His short fiction has appeared online and in print, including in The Kenyon Review, where his story was called “unfortunately timely.” In a good way.

Before joining West Wing Writers, Chris taught English and coached speech and debate, including assisting at his alma mater, Regis High School. Since then, he’s brought his coaching and classroom experiences to workshops around the country, teaching creative writing to college students and communications strategy to nonprofit executives.

Chris is originally from Sea Cliff, New York, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Williams College.
