Brianna Willis returns to West Wing Writers after 3 years as speechwriter for Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot.

After nearly three years of serving the City of Chicago, my time as Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot’s Senior Speechwriter has come to an end. There isn’t a word that quite captures how bittersweet this moment is for me. As my first full-time speechwriting job out of college (and during a global pandemic, no less), this experience has challenged, strengthened, and empowered me in unimaginable ways. I will always be grateful to Mayor Lightfoot for trusting me to convey her voice through the power of the pen and providing me with the opportunity to serve the city I will forever be proud to have been born and raised in.
