West Wing Writers: Speechwriting to Strategy

In January 2001, a group of presidential aides took the White House speechwriting shop and moved it to the private sector.

During our days in the West Wing, some of us wrote foreign policy speeches for President Bill Clinton; some wrote domestic speeches; and some wrote both. But each of us played a role in one of the most effective communications operations in presidential history.

Today, we work for some of the world’s best-known names in business, philanthropy, entertainment, and politics.
